Accessibility Statement
First Coast Dental Center is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all patients and website visitors, including people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
1. Our Commitment
We believe that everyone should be able to access information about our practice and request an appointment, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and, in doing so, adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
2. Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
First Coast Dental Center's website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate any remaining issues.
3. Measures We Take
First Coast Dental Center takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Include accessibility as part of our ongoing website maintenance and quality review
- Provide an on-page accessibility toolbar (bottom-left of every page) allowing visitors to adjust text size, contrast, spacing, and other display preferences
- Use semantic HTML structure, descriptive alt text for images, and labeled form fields
- Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background
- Ensure the site is navigable using a keyboard alone
4. Assistive Technology & Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver) used in combination with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation, without requiring a mouse
5. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. Known limitations are listed below and will be addressed as we continue to improve the site:
- Third-party content: Some embedded content — such as the Google Maps location widget, our online scheduling tools, and live chat — is provided by third-party vendors and may not be fully within our control to remediate.
- PDF and legacy documents: Some older documents linked from the site may not yet be fully accessible; accessible alternatives are available upon request.
6. Feedback & Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the First Coast Dental Center website. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, have difficulty using any part of our site, or need assistance accessing information in an alternative format, please let us know:
We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 3 business days and will do our best to provide the information, item, or transaction you seek through an alternate communication method that is accessible to you.
7. Formal Complaints
This statement was created with reference to the guidance in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may pursue further options available to you under applicable state and federal law.
